I. Introduction
Research on pedagogical agents is a field that has emerged and developed over the last three decades. For [1], the theory of social agency is the most widely used theoretical framework for research on pedagogical agents [2], and it has been demonstrated that it supports students' requirements on the learning paths. Pedagogical agents are intelligent agents with a pedagogical agenda [3] and are referred to characters generated by computer, to be used in learning management systems (LMS), with the purpose of performing pedagogical activities [4]. A pedagogical agent is an anthropomorphic virtual carácter [5], used in an LMS for educational purposes and to serve as a learning support tool, providing help and guidance, procedures and examples to assist students in understanding, processing and storing knowledge and information, so that they can learn at any time and in any place. The LMS of the pedagogical agents were created from a basic level, with an incremental evolution through the utilization of complex software, with simplified operation that are at the disposition of the educators, who wish to include agents in their teaching activities [6]. Previous research has shown that students who interact with pedagogical agents can perform better in test and problem solving than students who do not. Despite the fact that teaching aids cannot completely replace interactions with human agents, teaching aids can provide increased motivation, participation, and lower levels of anxiety for students in some situations [2], improving student learning and performance [7].
