1 Introduction
English, as an international language, is increasingly used in real-life situations. Proficiency in English is a major learning requirement for students. Current English classroom teaching is limited, and teachers need to effectively organize practical classroom activities in the classroom to provide students with opportunities to practice English. Students' English application skills are improved by completing listening and speaking exercises through group conversations in English in the classroom. This teacher-centered teaching mode keeps students in a passive state and makes it difficult to stimulate students' active learning, resulting in low efficiency and quality of traditional English teaching. Moreover, due to the limitations of the classroom and the length of teaching, this kind of teaching can only improve students' English ability to a limited extent. College English is a compulsory course for college students and plays an important role in their academic development, career development and social life [1]–[2]. Therefore, how to improve students' English ability in university teaching is the focus of research in university teaching.
