I. Introduction
The renewable energy market based on photovoltaic (PV) energy is rapidly growing [1], [2] and PV generation plants with MW-scale power capability are becoming common nowadays. However, as generation capacity is increasing, energy conversion efficiency becomes a critical design challenge. When the converter power level increases, the converter losses will also increase, hence it requires an advanced thermal management system to quickly dissipate the heat generated by the semiconductor devices and passive components. This will increase cost, size and complexity of the energy conversion system. Due to this, improving efficiency and power density of energy conversion systems is the focus of current power electronics research effort.
