I. Introduction
The requirement of high bandwidth for interconnect cable technology is increasing day by day. For example, in display interface, UHD or 4K resolution video and virtual reality which need enormous data already have high demand. However, the traditional electrical interconnect cable suffers loss as the data rate increase. To compensate for this, the interface system requires additional area and power consumption. In contrast, optical interconnect applications have no cable loss compared to electrical, thus, high speed data can be transmitted through optical fiber without inter-symbol interference (ISI). The channel which replace an electrical wire with an optical fiber is called active optical cable (AOC).
