Abstract:
In this work, a compact, wideband Wilkinson power divider based on silicon-based integrated passive device (IPD) technology is presented. The periodic synthesized transmission line, realized by cascaded square unit cells and specially treated corner cells, can achieve wideband operation and low insertion loss in a compact size. In the design process, the cascaded unit cells and corner cells are developed as an intuitive lumped π-network to design and optimization. The experimental results show that the proposed Wilkinson power divider achieve a minimum insertion loss of 0.5 dB at 22.3 GHz, and satisfy insertion loss less than 1.2 dB, isolation better than 12 dB, return loss better than 12 dB from 15 GHz to 40 GHz. The simulation and measured results are in good agreements. The core chip occupied size is 0.56 × 0.49 mm2.
