I. Introduccion
With the cost of electricity more than double the rest of the US and the high potential of sun, wind, biomass and geothermal energy - Hawaii has always been considered a perfect environment for large-scale use of renewable sources. Moreover, the first kWh in Hawaii was generated by a hydroelectric power station built in 1888. In fact, despite the expectations, until recently the Hawaiian islands have operated only a few renewable plants to meet 10% of the demand. The situation has changed dramatically since 2010 with an acceleration of green production that in six years has gone up to 26%.
