Abstract:
Nowdays the need of efficient and effective retrieval of images from a large database is significantly increased. CBIR is one of the important technique which is used to retrieving images on the basis of features such as color, texture and shape. A high configuration system is required to perform multiple operations as image retrieval includes vector extraction, enrollment and verification. Normally standalone systems are available to perform CBIR operations which is not that efficient and robust as the single point of failure bring down complete system. Implementation of CBIR on cloud has various benefits because it provides sufficient storage capacity as well as the desired processing power for operation on images. In this paper, the public and hybrid cloud based architecture of CBIR SaaS model is proposed. On the basis of which the services of CBIR will be dynamically available for the desired systems in increasing the applications such as scalability, flexibility and availability. The implementation of public cloud architecture is not much cost effective because the storage and computation are running on the public cloud at the same time. And in hybrid cloud architecture the storage is on one cloud and computation are on the other. So, it is little bit expensive than public cloud. We will also analyze the performance of CBIR based on desktop versus cloud system.
