Technology applied does make a huge difference to the world of people with restricted mobility. Internet of things is one such development. The care takers of the affected are also relieved by the fact that, the availability of technological advancements makes life easier. The control of the wheelchair can be accessed by logging into a website. The wheelchair is enabled for control from anywhere in the world. The whole objective of this work was to develop an economical, convenient, extensible and fool-proof system for an automated, electrically powered wheelchair catering to the needs of quadriplegics and paraplegics. Individual modules that can be incorporated into any wheelchair which enables the patient or guardian to choose only what they feel is required thereby reducing the expenditure.
The controller is so developed that any module that is developed at a later stage can be integrated on to the wheelchair with ease.
