I. INTRODUCTION
Cardiovascular diseases contribute to a significant share of the major chronic diseases people suffer from throughout the world. Treatment and diagnosis of such diseases involves continuous monitoring of the patients and often requires individual attention and care. With an increase in the number of patients due to the ever-increasing population, it is impossible to cope up with the requirement of continuous monitoring for patients all the time. Motivated by such needs thus, the concept of remote health monitoring is gaining popularity and involves remote monitoring of the patient's ECG signals obtained through a mobile device attached to the patient itself while the patient engages in one's daily usual activities. Remote healthcare scenarios also find a major application in rural areas, especially in the developing and under-developed countries, where the basic medical facilities are inadequate.
