I. Introduction
With the increased penetration of renewable energy in the utility grid, there is a high demand for the grid-connected power inverter that provides the interface between the various renewable energy and utility grids [1], [2]. Recently, a three-level T-type inverter (3LT2I) topology is proposed for the low-voltage application, which combines the merits of the neutral-point clamped (NPC) inverter, such as low switching losses and low total harmonic distortion (THD), and the two-level inverter, such as low conduction losses [3]. Besides, the efficiency of 3LT2I is the highest among the T-type, NPC, and two-level inverters [4].
