Abstract:
The aim of this work is to present an intelligent street lighting control scheme that combines real-time measured data from temperature & and humidity sensor and object identification sensors based on radar to generate light control signals which in turn drive spectrally tunable LED streetlights. Application of the proposed scheme will improve the visibility, safety, and energy efficiency of installed street lighting systems in various urban situations through extensive data analysis and data collection depending on the prevailing ambient conditions which will lead to significant contributions to sustainable street lighting methods that are beneficial to both the environment and the community. The working of the proposed scheme has been experimentally tested by developing a prototype model.
