Abstract:
In this paper, a compact, CPW-fed reconfigurable antenna with single and dual band notching capabilities is presented at WLAN and Wi-MAX frequencies. According to the results, the bandwidth of proposed antenna can be improved by eliminating the triangular slots from the corners of the rectangular patch, and extracting of two semi-circle slots in the ground plane. Additionally, it is shown that dual band- notched features can be achieved using an elliptical ring slot in the radiating patch and two rectangular slits in the ground plane. This antenna covers the rage from 2.3 to 17.2 GHz, using reconfigurability it provides single and dual notch band. The next-generation antenna features a notch-band that spans WLAN, the entire UWB range (3.1–10.6GHz), and Wi-MAX (3.3–3.8GHz) (5.15–5.85GHz), and the proposed antenna's peak gain is 11.8 dBi, it can be used for 5G/6G applications. The proposed antenna's VSWR and far-field measurements exhibit excellent agreement with model predictions.
