Abstract:
Modular multi-level converter based high-voltage direct current (MMC-HVDC) technology and high-capacity wind generators have emerged as a leading solution for offshore wind power transmission. This paper proposes a control strategy for 66kV10MW wind turbines and the MMC, and constructs a comprehensive model of the offshore wind power transmission system. The effectiveness of the control scheme is then verified through transient simulation. The proposed control strategy ensures the stability of the wind farm side AC voltage, frequency, and DC voltage while also allowing for flexible adjustments to the amount of reactive power output to the AC power grid.
