I. Introduction
Beef is the most consumed meat by the people of Indonesia. The price of beef always increases significantly from time to time, this is due to several important factors, such as rising fuel prices, the high cost of keeping cows alive, and the decreasing supply of beef. However, the most dominant factor is because beef is the most sought after by the public compared to other meats, this is due to the high protein content and more diverse meat processing, causing higher demand for beef, which in turn causes the price of beef to become more expensive. The increasing consumption of beef in Indonesia provides opportunities for certain parties to reap greater profits. One of the methods used is to mix beef with pork which is sold as beef. This is done because the price of pork is cheaper than beef, so these parties can take advantage of the price difference, this certainly harms consumers because the meat consumed is not actual beef and can also endanger consumer health if the meat is not processed properly. Therefore, it is important to increase supervision and sanctions for those who carry out this practice so that the public can avoid products that are not in accordance with standards, so it is important to be able to distinguish these two types of meat.
