Abstract:
This article analyzes the cause of an internal short circuit grounding event in 220kV low-frequency GIS of a flexible low-frequency transmission project. Gas detection, insulation resistance test, circuit resistance test and X-ray detection are conducted to diagnose the location of the GIS fault gas chamber. Through further analysis of the cover opening inspection, it is found that the fault is caused by the violent vibration of the low-frequency fast switch opening and closing, which causes the shield cover at the end of the conductor in the gas chamber to fall down, causing a short circuit to ground in this section of conductor, subsequent measures and suggestions were provided to prevent the detachment of the internal shielding caps of the low-frequency GIS in frequency convertor station.
