Abstract:
Crystal oscillator (CO) is a frequency source of modern electronic systems and equipment and played an irreplaceable role in the operation of electronic devices. Traditionally, the CO has a fixed drive current and power assumption which may not be flexible in applications. In this paper, an optimized Pierce crystal oscillator is designed. By improving the traditional structure, a drive current control circuit and a load capacitance regulation circuit are added, the output frequency accuracy is improved, the power consumption is reduced, and the amplitude can be adjusted. At the same time, the working principle of the circuit is analyzed theoretically, and the circuit is realized by Hua Hong 90-nm CMOS process. The simulation results show that the design meets the technical requirements.
