Abstract:
In this era, with the development of technology and with the increase of population the demand for power and energy is increasing day by day. This results in the increase of fault current levels. To cope up with this increased fault current, Fault Current Limiter (FCL) is a viable solution. FCL can be used for any voltage level. The FCL used for operation, in this paper, is fabricated for low voltage operation. A Permanent Magnet Fault Current Limiter (PMFCL) is used. The model is simulated on ANSYS and the fabricated hardware is run at different voltage levels. This research provides a detailed analysis of the PMFCL's operation under various power input conditions.
