I. Introduction
The fault management process involves a series of actions to restore service as quickly as possible to affected customers after a fault occurrence. Switching devices such as circuit breakers (CBs), remote-controlled switches (RCSs), and manual switches (MSs) are installed in power distribution systems to facilitate the fault management process [1]. However, they come with significant investment, installation, and maintenance costs. Therefore, an optimization problem should be solved to determine the most profitable switch installation strategy. The problem is usually solved to improve the reliability indices subject to budget limitations [2].
