Abstract:
This paper analyzed the various optimization techniques that can be done using various renewables like wind, solar, battery etc. Here, a grid-connected system is studied in detail combined with different kinds of renewables and loads. The case study location used is Digha, West Bengal. Here, Electric Renewables modelling for Hybrid Optimization, or HOMER software is used for studying the total simulation. The geographical area chosen is 21°37.3’North (Latitude) and 87°30.4’East (Longitude) in the map. The main objective for which the paper is written is to obtain a system having a Levelized cost of energy apart from being independent and reliable. Apart from primary load, various other loads are being attached into the system, like thermal, electric heater, boiler and another for use of EV charging. The best case system means that all other aspects have been optimized in such a way, by the software, that it will be getting the system which will be automatically having the lowest cost system. Apart from that, it will be also getting several emission parameters for the connected system, from which CO2, NO2, and SO2 emission values throughout the year can be noted so that it can decide the best system which will be having the least environmental impact. In this way, the overall carbon footprint impact happening globally can also be reduced to some extent. After getting values from HOMER, mainly of the NPC and COE, a perfect case can be found and after that also, other changes can be done as required to get further improved results.
