Abstract:
An optical fiber is used in fiber optic technology to transport light pulses generated by a light emitting diode or laser. Bandwidth is significantly reduced when using metal cables as opposed to fiber optic lines. In order to explain the attenuation in an optical fiber, we must consider the two main causes: absorption and scattering. Fiber optics research has enabled simulation of the many factors that affect the quality of communication through this medium. The formula previously provided was used to determine attenuation in this simulation. The number of splices, the separation between connections, and the total length of the optical cable are all considered, as is the attenuation (in dB) of each splice. The greater the distance between the transmitter and receiver, the greater the attenuation. The phenomenon of attenuation in optical fibers is the study's principal emphasis. The phenomenon of attenuation in fiber optics is now the subject of investigation.
