I. Introduction
Many medical conditions and diseases, like diabetes mel-litus, require precise dispensing of drugs for their treatment. In this paper we focus in the characterization of an electro-medical infusion device (EMID) for a future application for the treatment of diabetes. According to the World Health Organization [1] around 1.5 million deaths were directly caused by diabetes in 2019 and 6.7 million in 2021 according to the International Diabetes Federation [2]. Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease, the number of people living with this condition was estimated to 537 million in 2021, of which 3 out of 4 people live in low or middle income countries [2], thus a cost-effective solution could make a significative difference in the life expectancy of millions of people [1].
