I. Introduction
In this paper we deal with the inverse scattering problem of recovering the shape of perfectly electric conducting (PEC) objects starting from the knowledge of the scattered field collected over a bounded and rectilinear observation domain located in the near zone and under a multi-frequency illumination. This problem is relevant in a number of different applied contexts such as civil engineering [1], ground penetrating radar prospecting [2], archaeological surveys [3], just to quote a few of them.
