Abstract:
The results presented are based on many years of experience of development and application of DYANA-an environment for the analysis of multiprocessor computer system operation. The architecture and basic features of such an environment are discussed. The main problems arising during such an environment's design are highlighted and possible solutions are shown. The key features of the DYANA environment are: the possibility of both quantitative and algorithmic analysis of the system to be modeled; the time complexity estimation subsystem which helps to avoid instruction-level simulation of the target computer system; and support of program development through simulation.
