I. Introduction
A melanoma is a cancer that begins in skin cells called melanocytes which are normally responsible for producing the skin pigment melanin [1]. If left untreated, a melanoma can spread resulting in cancers in different organs of the body. However it can be successfully cured if recognized and treated early. Melanomas account for less than 5% of skin cancer cases, but cause the most deaths among skin cancers. In 2010, an estimated 68130 new melanoma cases were detected, and 8700 deaths were attributed to melanomas.
