I. INTRODUCTION
Pilot induced oscillations (PIO) are complex interactions between the human pilot and theaircraft dynamics. Formally, PIO can be defined as sustained or uncontrollable oscillations resulting from the efforts of the pilot to control the airplane[1]. PIO events exist in military, experimental, large and civilian aircraft[2] (e.g., F/A-18, JAS 39, YF-22, X-15, B-2, C-1 7, B777, etc.).
