I. Introduction
The electric motors consume over half of all electricity and so, the need for energy conservation is accelerating the requirement for increased levels of electric motor efficiency [1]. Improving efficiency to higher level through the selection of an appropriate combination of the design factors can be effective way to reduce the consumption of electricity. In order to maximize efficiency, new technology has been developed such as copper die-casting motor and low core loss electrical steel. However, these methods bring cost-rise and need special manufacturing technology. In this paper, we study the efficiency-maximizing design of the effective factors such as slot height, width and coil diameter by using the design of experiments (DOE) without material and volume change.
