1. Introduction
It has been told that the word ‘software engineering’ was coined for the first time in the NATO Software Engineering Conference held in Garmisch (Germany) on 7–11 Oct. in 1968. What was also told is that the concept ‘software factory’ was introduced there [1]. A number of industries tried to implement software factory concepts [2]. As a result, it was conceived that the software factory is a concept to commit long-term integrated efforts to apply software engineering and practices over multiple projects to increase productivity using standardized tools, computer-based interface and a database with historical data for financial management and controls [3].
