I. Introduction
Induction SHRINK FITS are joints widely used in numerous modern industrial and transport applications (shrunk-on rings, tires of railway wheels, armature bandages in electrical machines, fixing of machine tools, etc.). Their purpose is to transfer the force or torque effects. Their assembly is mostly realized by induction heating of the outer metal part containing a hole with the aim to increase its dimensions, inserting there another metal part, and consequent cooling of the whole system.
