1. Introduction
Lumbar spinal stenosis is the leading preoperative diagnosis for adults older than 65 years who undergo spine surgery. The cost of more than 30,000 Lumbar spinal stenosis surgeries performed in 1994 exceeded 1 billion dollars [6]. The symptoms of spinal stenosis are nerve root pain and or back pain due to spinal canal and disc narrowing and/or thickened facet joints.
