Abstract:
Ni/Au superlattices have been prepared by evaporation and their properties studied. The magnetization decreases with t(Ni) and the analysis at 5 K shows the absence of a dead layer. The surface anisotropy is negative and the samples show in-plane magnetization. Both Kerr and Faraday rotations decrease strongly with t(Ni) mostly due to a decrease in the Curie temperature.<>
