Abstract:
A semi-analytical method is presented based on the concept of separation of variables and the Fourier transform for solving the 3D Helmholtz equation with eddy currents using the longitudinal components in a conducting shell of infinite length and finite thickness. To approximate the complicated incident field, a Fourier expansion and the discrete Fourier transform (DFT) are used. Finally, the inverse DFT is applied. The numerical results are reasonable.<>
